Mom Goes To Friends House and Leaves 2 Kids Car for 15 Hours, Then It Gets Worse

A teen mom left her two daughters in the car overnight to party with her friends. Both died.

Amanda Hawkins,19 who works at Walmart went to party at a friend's place in Kerr County, Texas. She locked her daughters in the car outside the house and went inside to party. Her friend asked to bring the kids inside but the mother denied.

She left her two-year-old daughter Addyson, and one-year-old daughter Brynn, in the car while she went inside a friend's house. Both children cried, and a friend even suggested bringing them inside, but the mother would not get the children from the car. Both the daughters were left in the car overnight for about 15 hours.

In the morning, she found the kids unconscious in a hot car. The children were alive, but barely. She did not take them to the hospital right away because she was afraid of investigations. She bathed them and change their clothes, then took them to the hospital. Both died at the hospital.

The mother made up a story to the cops that they were hanging out at a local park where the kids collapsed after smelling flowers.  The truth came out when she confessed and it was not the first time she had done this torture to the kids. But this time they could not survive.

KERR COUNTY, Texas - A woman was arrested and charged with child endangerment after allegedly leaving her two young daughters in her car overnight, ultimately leading to their deaths, reports CBS affiliate KENS.

According to a news release from Kerr County Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer, 19-year-old Amanda Hawkins is charged with two counts of endangering a child. However, police said the charges could be upgraded due to the girls' deaths.

The sheriff's office says that the investigation began after Hawkins and an unidentified 16-year-old male showed up at Peterson Regional Medical Center with her two children, 1-year-old Brynn Hawkins and 2-year-old Addyson Overgard-Eddy.

Hawkins told hospital personnel that she, the girls, the 16-year-old had been at Flat Rock Lake. She said they had been "smelling flowers" in that area, and that the girls "collapsed" as they were getting ready to leave.

But the sheriff's office said that after investigating, they determined that the girls had actually been left in their mother's car for more than 15 hours while "she and other friends were inside a residence."

After discovering the girls, the sheriff's office said Hawkins attempted to bathe them and did not immediately take them to a hospital for fear of "getting in trouble."

Amanda Hawkins was a 19-year-old mother of two beautiful daughters. At this age she might see her own kids as a burden to her freedom. Which may be the reason for her ignorantly leaving the kids in the car for 15 hours.

The girls lost their lives because their mother wanted to hang out with friends. There could be other possible ways to spend time with friends, without the kids, but she chose to lock them in the car instead. She could have made them sleep in her friend's house, but she didn't. She basically killed both of her daughters.

This is not the first time I am reading about a teen's ignorance killing their kids. I have seen incident of mothers unintentionally feeding their kids to rats. Leaving her kids in a car for 15 hours intentionally is just as horrific.

Kerr County Sheriff Hierholzer said in a statement: "This is by far the most horrific case of child endangerment that I have seen in the 37 years that I have been in law enforcement."

If someone hates their responsibilities, then they should not have kids or give them up for adoption. It is not a fancy thing to be a mother but it IS a huge responsible role to play for the rest of their life.

All teenage girls should take as much time as they need to prepare mentally to be a mother, only then we  might prevent these incidents from happening. Otherwise, they might end up in jail just like Amanda. She is arrested and might face up to two years in jail. The sentence is likely to be upgraded to something much worse since the children later passed away from the horrible abuse their mother put them through.
