Parenting is one of the toughest jobs out there and it has no pay and no sick days. There is no instruction manual and no one is perfect. Every parent makes mistakes - some good, some bad, some totally epic fails. There is no avoiding the eventual fail (unless you ditch your kids), so don't feel bad if you've messed up once or twice. The rich and famous celebrities do it too.
Here are five times when celebrity parenting made us cringe. Everyone from Britney Spears to Michael Jackson will make you feel a little bit better about yourself. Either that or you made the same silly mistake. It's OK to make mistakes, everyone does.
1. Britney Spears
Britney Spears shocked the nation when she was spotted driving with her four-month-old son, Sean Preston, in her lap instead of being safely bucked into a car seat. The "Oops, I did it again" singer eluded any official charges, but her fans quickly judged her for this epic fail and others that followed. You know, like shaving her head and Oops she's doing it again kinda stuff.
2. Alec Baldwin
When Alec Baldwin's 11-year-old daughter stopped answering his phone calls, he took it to the extreme. Baldwin left multiple vile voice messages and calling Baldwin is caught calling his daughter, Ireland "rude, thoughtless pig." The recorded message later sold to TMZ without the consent of Baldwin. I guess he's better at doing Trump impersonations than he is being a Dad? Low blow?
3. Ryan Reynolds
The first-time dad, Ryan Reynolds, was under fire after his wife posted this sweet photo. After all the swooning, the perfect-parents quickly pointed out how baby James wasn't positioned safely in the carrier. Reynolds pointed out that this wasn't his first mistake and it sure as heck wasn't about to be the last. Ryan knows best!
4. Amanda Holden
Britain's Got Talent judge, Amanda Holden, tweeted a photo of her nine-year-old daughter with the caption, "1990’s day at Lexi’s school today. Julia Roberts ‘Pretty Woman." Holden later blamed her husband for the accidental tweet. But it didn't stop people from wondering why she even thought dressing up a live-in prostitute was appropriate. Kinda weird.
5. Michael Jackson
The world will never forget the day when the late Michael Jackson dangled his nine-month-old son, Prince Michael II from a fifth-floor balcony in Berlin. Some fans cheered, but many screamed in fear that the child would drop.
Many of these blunders can be chalked down to poor judgment or blamed on inexperience as first-time parenting. So when you have a parenting fail, remember it could always be worse -- you could be rich and famous and have your epic fails played on repeat over and over across social media feeds.
