Democratic candidate Joe Biden's top advisor, Symone Sanders, went on a twitter tirade claiming that his racial comment on The Breakfast Club show were only in jest. It all started when former Vice President Joe Biden made an insensitive comment about black voters who are not sure if they want to vote for him or President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
Biden said, speaking to Charlamagne tha God, that if you're not sure if you want Trump or him, then "you ain't black."
But Sanders stands up for Biden, since she's his advisor.
She posted several messages in his defense. They are as follows:
Vice President Biden spent his career fighting alongside and for the African American community. He won his party's nomination by earning every vote and meeting people where they are and that's exactly what he intends to do this November.
The comments made at the end of the Breakfast Club interview were in jest, but let’s be clear about what the VP was saying: he was making the distinction that he would put his record with the African American community up against Trump’s any day. Period.
However, as his advisor, it's almost her job to defend Joe Biden regardless of what he says - but not everyone believed she was sincere.
At least one person reminded Sanders of this video:
And another person stated the following, partially in support of Sanders in general, but calling her out for defending Biden's inappropriate comment.
Kiese stated, "fam. we love you. don't be a shield for white supremacy. we all gotta eat. but please don't defend the indefensible. we gone do all we can to get trump out. but your boy a problem. and there ain't no period. been a problem. shall be a problem. just less of a problem than trump."
Chad Felix Greene reminded Symone Sanders of a little stumble Joe Biden had with slavery, pointing out an article from last year titled "Joe Biden’s Stunningly Racist Answer on the Legacy of Slavery Has Been Overlooked."
That article stated:
That stumble happened when Biden was asked about the legacy of slavery and gave a meandering answer that, in part, lectured black people on their parenting abilities. The Times delved into Biden’s controversial answer in a separate article, headlined “Biden Was Asked About Segregation. His Answer Included a Record Player,” but the blatant racism in Biden’s answer has not received the scrutiny it deserves. Meanwhile, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro has borne the brunt of Washington’s rage for breaking rules of “civil” discourse by questioning Biden’s ongoing mental acumen.
But here we are with Symone Sanders standing up for her Biden.
If she wasn't his advisor, then it's very predictable that she would be calling this man out and making a massive stink about it on social media.
If Trump said the same thing, she would've lost her mind.
And alas, we have this hilarious meme the surfaced thanks to Biden's Breakfast Club interview.
