Bowe Bergdahl Claims Taliban More Honest Than US Army
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the Army traitor who deserted his post by wandering away, is now crying to the press that the US Army has treated him far worse than the Taliban ever did. He told a British reporter that when dealing with the Taliban they were at least honest enough to tell you who was the guy that was going to cut your head off, whereas with the US Army, you had no idea who held your fate in their hands.
Bergdahl faces up to life in prison upon being sentenced. He was due to be sentenced on October 23, but due to complications his sentencing could be anywhere from now to next week. Bergdahl plead guilty last week to the charges of desertion with intent to shirk important or hazardous duty and misbehavior before the enemy by endangering the safety of a command, unit or place.
Sgt. Bergdahl walked away from his post on a base in Afghanistan in June of 2009. Shortly thereafter he was captured by allies of the Taliban and held captive for almost five years.
President Obama made a deal to exchange five Taliban terrorists for the return of Bergdahl in 2014. The deal came under intense scrutiny by prominent Republicans as it was already known that Bergdahl had endangered his fellow soldiers by walking away from his post, and that multiple soldiers were permanently injured during the search for the sergeant that ensued. One of the soldiers who searched for the AWOL Bergdahl is now wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life.
Republican John McCain said that if the Army did not sufficiently punish Bergdahl that he and the Senate Armed Services Committee that he chairs would take action. Even President Trump has gone on record as calling Bergdahl a "dirty, rotten traitor" and has publicly stated that he should face the death penalty for desertion.
President Trump and some others have said that soldiers died searching for Bergdahl, but further investigation into the facts indicate that no deaths can be directly attributed to the search for the sergeant, but multiple soldiers were badly injured.
To think that this traitor has the audacity to disrespect the United States Army's treatment of him in comparison to that of the Taliban, with the Taliban's treatment being better, is rich. What would you expect from a group that you betrayed and cost the livelihoods of fellow soldiers, put many lives in danger, and now have to deal with your attitude issues? You'd be pissed too. As for the Taliban treating him better, well, wouldn't most people treat a bargaining chip well for fear they could lose their leverage?
This disgusting excuse for an American should probably go back to Afghanistan and be pampered by his newfound Taliban friends. I'll even throw in for the ticket!
