Breaking news! We have learned that CNN has settled a lawsuit filed against them by lawyers of the MAGA Hat Covington teen, Nick Sandmann. This took place in a federal court, in Covington, Kentucky. The amount of the settlement remains private, thus far. Well, it hasn't been leaked or made public yet.
The lawsuit against CNN, the Washington Post, and NBC Universal wanted $800 million combined, with $250 million from the Washington Post alone.
Trials for the Washington Post and NBC Universal have not been set yet. The Washington Post filed a motion to dismiss their lawsuit, but a judge allowed some of it to go through.sponsor
Fox 19 reported:
Sandmann’s attorney, Lin Wood, said, “This case will be tried not one minute earlier or later than when it is ready.”
Wood says they also plan to sue Gannett, owners of The Enquirer.

He says he will bring that to the judge in the next 60 days.
Sandmann’s attorney talked about the “emotional distress, damage to reputation and distress to his family” that Nick has and will continue to suffer.
Attorneys say the money they’re seeking is not designed to compensate Nick, but to “deter the defendants” from doing the same thing (that they’re accused of) in the future.
This all happened when Sandmann was standing with a group of student peers and an older man walked into his crowd and began beating a drum. Sandmann was seen on video standing in front of the man, while the man stood in front of him banging his drums. Both of them stood in front of each other, but that's about it.
The media and social media ran wild with the video, with many people blaming the teen and judging him because of his Trump supporting hat. The teen, as seen in numerous videos, was doing nothing more than standing there as he was approached. Some people on the left side of politics were upset that he smirked. Some didn't like his hat. A lot blamed him for it.
Other videos, once finally revealed, showed the man approaching the group of boys, but many people online said the boys surrounded the man. Nope. Video clearly shows the man walking to them.
We will report back once we learn how much the CNN settlement was for.
We have numerous articles on the Covington teen and even some on Nathan Phillips, the older man banging his drum in front of teenage boys.
