An Australian man has been sentenced to one year in prison, $1,000, a 9-month driver's license suspension and is required to attend AA meetings for some time over a drunk driving and rage incident at a McDonald's fast food restaurant.
Kole Olsen, 30, showed up at a Sydney McDonald's one evening after some heavy drinking and demanded 200 chicken nuggets. When the restaurant told him they had no more nuggets the drunken man did 4 laps around the parking lot around the drive-thru.
The self-proclaimed vegan was not satisfied, to say the least, at the lack of chicken nuggets on the McDonalds breakfast menu and proceeded to yell to the staff that he wanted his "f-cking nuggets" and he was going to f-ck them up. Perhaps not the nicest way to order nuggets, but we all make mistakes, right? Not like this!
He settled down slightly and made a new order of 200 hash browns in lieu of the nuggets, which have never been part of McDonald's breakfast menu. The man is said to have carried on with the staff, verbally abusing and threatening them to the point that the manager locked down the restaurant and called the police for assistance with the inconsolable man.
The rowdy guy coughed up around $170 for the hashbrowns before going on a tirade about a refund for 200 large fries and 200 Big Macs that he didn't order.
Police arrived on the scene and took the man into custody after finding him slumped over his steering wheel, passed out. He eventually blew a blood alcohol level of .0175 which is more than 3 times the legal limit in Australia.
Olsen had a record of prior alcohol-related offenses. He pled guilty of the charges of high range drunk driving.
While Olsen probably imagined he would someday get his 15 minutes of fame, I'm sure he didn't think it would be like this. This is surely one night that this man won't soon forget, that is if he ever remembered any of it in the first place.
