At the age of 10, Whittney Williams entered the US borders illegally, coming from her birthplace Taiwan. Now, she is running for Congress in Michigan in high hopes of finishing the border wall and is showing no tolerance for socialism.
Currently the Director of Diversity for the 11th Congressional District Republican Committee, Williams announced her mission to unseat Democratic Representative Haley Stevens Monday. Stevens, who gave a thumbs up for the $15 federal minimum wage and co-sponsors the bill that condemns current US President Trump's "racist rhetoric" faces an unorthodox contender.
In a press release, Williams justifies her aspirations stating that it is for her love for her country and her faith in the American dream that she is taking such actions to fight back against the "radical left's socialist agenda". She said "This country has given me everything", she is taking this as an opportunity to give back to her home country by defending the Constitution and fundamental American values.
Though she grew up in a poor Southern California household, her hard times did not affect her beliefs. Instead, it has strengthened her desire to tackle the Democrats' social agenda on immigration. She learned English by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. At the age of 13, Williams has been robbed the right to serve her country in the Navy because of her immigration status.
She is taking this stance as she wishes that no one will experience what she has. Williams believes that Congressional Democrats are lying to the American Public. Their choice to have open borders instead of solving the immigration crisis does not support dreamers like her. Williams stated in her interview with the Caller "They [The Democrats] know that the crisis cannot be solved as they push an open border agenda". An open border agenda that is, in Williams' opinion, is anti-American, anti-immigrant and anti-Dreamer. She pushes for border security to end this.
Along with her aspirations of better immigration laws, Williams also wants to revive the auto industry, mimicking Trump's ideology of fair trade. The labeling that Democrats use for illegal aliens won't work on her, a spokesman for her campaign told the media. Williams is actively campaigning for pro-Second amendment and pro-life agenda along with lower taxes and is garnering both support and ire from the masses.
