George P. Bush is the son of Jeb Bush. Jeb's the guy who lost to Donald Trump for the GOP nomination. Jeb put up a decent fight, but ultimately the nod for the Republicans went to Donald Trump.
Until now, most of the Bush family chose to keep quiet or simply not support or endorse Donald Trump.
That somewhat changed when George P. Bush spoke up to some GOP folks about supporting the guy who won in order to defeat Hillary Clinton and the Democrats.
George P. Bush just wants to beat Hillary and I don't think he cares who beats her, even if it's Donald Trump.
Texas Tribune - "From Team Bush, it's a bitter pill to swallow, but you know what? You get back up and you help the man that won, and you make sure that we stop Hillary Clinton," Bush said, according to video of the remarks provided by an audience member. Bush was speaking in his capacity as the Texas GOP's victory chairman, who is responsible for overseeing the party's statewide campaign in November. Bush had been criticized for taking the role without backing the party's presidential nominee. Since the end of the primaries, many members of the Bush family and its network have declined to offer any support for Trump. They include Jeb Bush, former President George W. Bush and former President George H.W. Bush.
Trump isn't very popular with the Bush family. Time will tell where the support from the Bush family goes.
The Bush family might lay low for now, hoping the GOP dumps Trump, then they can try to get Jeb another chance. Or they might want to support a third party, but third parties are kinda pointless, like having a third team play in the championship match of any sport.
Voting for President should always come down to the best of the best, head to head, or whatever this election is - because this certainly isn't the best of anything!
