Steph Gongora is not ashamed to FREE BLEED and this photoshoot with her in white yoga pants made that very clear. She chose to show that she was not ashamed by recording herself performing yoga poses in white yoga pants during her period and allowing herself to bleed freely onto the pants, staining them in a rather nasty way.
Steph feels strongly about this and wants to show that it is a normal part of a woman's life, but some people may not see if from her point of view. In fact, most people do not want to see this while it's coming out of her like a slow drip geyser.
Everyone understands that women go through the menstrual cycle, but watching a woman bleed freely is disturbing. It's already tough enough being a woman and dealing with the sexist comments women get about their period, but this is drawing more attention to something that we don't need to talk about in public. It's a woman's bodily function that should be kept private.
No one needs to see it to understand what women go through, so it really does not make sense as to why this woman thought it was a good idea to want others to see it. I suppose she's just begging for attention and likes or followers on her Instagram account.
I would rather hide it than let it show and I wish she would do the same.
Steph Gongora isn’t ashamed of her period, and doesn’t think other women should be either.
The yogi shared a video of herself on Instagram last week in which she performs a series of yoga moves while “free bleeding” — not using a cup, tampon or pad while menstruating — through her white yoga pants.
“I am a woman, therefore, I bleed,” she captioned the video. “It’s messy, it’s painful, it’s terrible and it’s beautiful. And yet, you wouldn’t know. Because I hide it. I bury things at the bottom of the trash. I breathe, ragged and awkward through the cramps, all the while holding onto this tight-lipped, painted-on smile.”
The picture of the yoga girl who bleeds freely in her white yoga pants is gross and it went viral. People have shared these photos and video when they saw it because they found it disturbing and wanted to give their opinion.
There may have also been some people who agree with what this woman did and that helped it go viral. Those people are mostly feminists who usually believe that things like this are normal to do and probably do it themselves.
Some people will argue that because some countries tax women for sanitary products calling them 'luxury items' that this may be a way to protest against that tax. Everything is taxed these days and who wants to walk around town bleeding in that area?
It would be embarrassing, unhygienic, and very unsightly and disgusting mess. And who wants to ruin their clothes once a month for a week? That sounds like a very stupid idea to me!
There are more ways than this a woman can get her point across without being vulgar and disturbing.
Getting your point across by using less graphic images may have been better and still makes whatever point it was that she was trying to make. We still have no clue what her point was, if she had any at all. It seems like she did this to voice her opinion and it somewhat backfired with people calling it disgusting and unhygienic.
Would that stop her from possibly doing this again? Probably not. She seems the kind of person who wants to be graphic when getting her point across. Even making your voice heard about what women go through during the time of the month is better than bleeding freely.
Would you support someone who chose to bleed freely? Would you want to see women walking around with blood stains in their crotch?
This just looks disgusting to me. I wouldn't want to do this for myself and I wouldn't want to see other women doing it.
