He couldn't believe his underpaid eyes when he saw the overpaid nonsense that some Buffalo Bills players did right before their game in week 3 NFL action. Erich Nikischer worked at the Buffalo Bills stadium for 30 years, but that all came to a screeching halt when he saw some of the players take a knee and protest the National Anthem. As soon as the National Anthem was over, he ripped off the shirt, chucked the hat to the ground, and left the stadium. He was done. He wasn't going to work for a team of millionaires who had the nerve to disrespect America and our veterans. Nikischer is one of many upset fans who are tired of seeing the baseless and pointless protests which are most likely targeting President Trump, but disrespecting America and veterans.
WGRZ reported that Nikischer stated "“During the National Anthem…the song that is about our country, our veterans that fight and die for us, it's just something I feel you shouldn't disrespect that way,” he said. "I believe people have the right to protest; I just don't believe that's the proper venue for it.”"sponsor

He's right. If players want to protest on their own time, that's when they should do it. Any protest during the NFL football games, which is like them protesting at work, is uncalled for. The fans are speaking out. The NFL ratings have tanked, and the league has reportedly been required to pay back their advertisers since the ratings have been so bad.
I don't think I would've quit my job over it, but I can understand how irritating it is to watch some overpaid athletes disrespect the military people who fought for their right to act like jerks. It is their right to a peaceful protest, but that doesn't mean they need to do it during the time allotted for the NFL games. The players can do whatever they want off the field, but people don't want to see this during the entertainment they've paid to see.
Football is entertainment and we pay to watch it. We pay for entertainment and people won't be paying much longer if this nonsense keeps up.

The movie industry had a horrible summer. All the celebrities do is talk about politics. Look what happened? They had no good movies all year. Now the NFL ratings are down and they're about to lose money. Does Hollywood get it yet?
We don't want politics mixed in our entertainment.
Seems like Erich Nikischer didn't want politics in his entertainment or job.
I guess I can't blame him for quitting. It must suck to be a normal guy like us, inches away from people whose bank accounts are 6-7 digits, and we're the ones paying them.
Good for you Erich Nikischer. You can come work with us any day.
I hope Erich Nikischer goes back to his job though. If he's close to retirement, then he needs to stick it out.
