Husband saves wife from alleged rapist by cutting his penis off

In the ancient or medieval times, the thieves had their hands cut off. Looks like that one man from Ukraine, a loving husband, decided to refer to these ancient times and their harsh punishments for crime, by cutting off the penis of a man who allegedly raped his wife.

There is one big difference though between today's world and the ancient and medieval world: today the husband that actually protected his wife can face prison term longer than the alleged rapist who abused his wife.

All of this happened in the eastern part of Ukraine, in a village named Shevchenkovo that is located in the Kharkiv region. This is also the region that is really close to Russia, not only geographically (the border is just shot away), but also mentally.

The husband and his wife had a nice dinner in a local restaurant. His wife left a few minutes before him and was heading home on foot. When her husband was close to the apartment building where they live, he saw something truly horrific: his wife being raped by a 25-year-old guy named Dmitry Ivchenko. Seeing brutal assault on his wife, her husband didn't think a lot and took his Swiss-army knife and cut the penis off the alleged rapist.

Now the husband can face prison term longer than the (alleged) rapist. He can be imprisoned for up to eight years, while a rapist can get a maximum five years in prison.

The husband's lawyer said that his client "lost the ability to control his actions" and was "in state of shock".

But many female residents from the village expressed their support for the husband, saying it was the right punishment for the rape.

The prosecutor Tetiana Vasileva stated about the rapist, that "he was dumped by his girlfriend a week ago". She also added that on the day when the rape accident happened, the rapist did drink a liter of vodka and he "is refusing to say more so far."
