Actress Kristen Bell raises controversial questions about Snow White, consent, and it's all tied into the #MeToo movement. She may have forgotten that it's just a movie.
When it's 2018 and nothing surprises you anymore, then it's no wonder a 38-year-old Kristen Bell is asking kids if they think it's weird that Snow White gets kissed in her sleep. Nevermind the fact that it's a fictional children's movie that kids love, but that doesn't matter. Bell just wants to be a nuisance and make people roll their eyes.
Her bizarre point was made on the Parents.com website.
To answer her question.... no. I don't think it's weird that a movie made for kids based in a fantasy world where a kiss from a prince is what would wake her up and save her life is weird.
Not at all.
Not one bit.
"Every time we close Snow White I look at my girls and ask, 'Don't you think it's weird that Snow White didn't ask the old witch why she needed to eat the apple? Or where she got that apple?' I say, 'I would never take food from a stranger, would you?' And my kids are like, 'No!' And I'm like, 'Okay, I'm doing something right.'"
The apple question is not the only one that Bell—a Disney Princess herself as the voice of Anna in Frozen—has after reading the tale. "Don't you think that it's weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission?" Bell says she has asked her daughters. "Because you can not kiss someone if they're sleeping!"
I apologize if this was the stupidest thing you read all day.
