Sad news in Orlando. A diver found the lifeless body of Lane Graves. The boy was snatched by a gator on a beach at the Grand Floridian resort of Disney World. The boy was wading in shallow water when an alligator appeared and snatched him. The gator pulled him into the water. Matt Graves, the boys father, rushed to his rescue. The brave Dad fought with the gator, trying to save his boy. But he just couldn't release the grip of the gators powerful jaws. The father suffered hand injuries and was unable to get Lane Graves back. Authorities and a lifeguard were called, but they couldn't find the boy until 15+ hours later. Wildlife authorities cut open 4-5 alligators searching for the boys remains, but each gator came up empty. A diver eventually found the boys body, fully intact, about 10-15 yards away from where the boy was taken.
Heavy: The Orlando Sentinel reports that the most recent death from an Alligator came in Brevard County. The sheriff?s officer there told the Sentinel that a burglary suspect was killed by an 11-foot-alligator. In October, a man was killed by an alligator while swimming in Blue Spring State Park. Alligator attacks at the Seven Seas Lagoon are rare because it is usually so full with traffic. ?Normally, Seven Seas Lagoon is so busy with water traffic that the gators don?t frequent the area. At twilight when things calm down can be another story. It is truly a tragedy,? former Disney executive Duncan Dickson told the Sentinel.
