This woman could have her own reality survival TV show after this event. The only difference is that she really did survive on her own, walking 26 miles in freezing temperatures. At one point she only had one shoe because the other one froze and her foot was too swollen to put the frozen shoe back on.
The reality TV shows, which are all scripted by the way, have safety crews and everything you need to actually survive.
She did it on her own. No camera crew. No safety crew. Nothing but her REAL survival skills.
Karen Klein and her family know the answer to that question after a 30-hour ordeal saw her trek through 26 miles on a deserted road in the Grand Canyon as she battled freezing temperatures in the wilderness to save her family.
Karen, 46, her husband Eric and 10-year-old son were visiting the national park when they became stranded after their car’s GPS system detoured them from State Road 67, which is closed during the winter months, onto service roads to get to the north rim of the canyon.
When they could no longer drive on a snow-covered road, they attempted to turn around, but their car slide into a ditch, stranding them in a secluded area in a heavy snowstorm.
Klein, is not only a triathlete, but had also taken wilderness survival courses, so she was the natural one to strike out to seek help.
Believing a major highway was nearby, Klein took some snacks and water, and took off for what she thought would be a short walk to the park entrance.
Klein was right – a road was nearby, but she was unaware it had been closed for the winter, and soon the short walk turned into mile after mile in the freezing conditions.
She was found in a shack under blankets. She had some frostbite, but she was hanging on to life and surviving for real.
This was no reality show, this was real life and real survival!
She's 46-years-old and survived THAT!
Meanwhile people be running to get away from a few raindrops.
Not sure why, but it reminds me of the reporter hit by stop sign.
She survived, but she's not as awesome as Karen Klein
Karen Klein was walking 30 miles in the snow, uphill, barefoot - I'm sitting here like...
