Democrats vote to limit Trump’s power to attack Iran

BREAKING: Democrats in The House have passed a war powers resolution with a goal of limiting Trump’s power to use military action against Iran, as per reports on NBC News.

It wasn’t a staggering vote, but the measure passed a House Vote, mostly along party-lines, of 224-194.

What might be most shocking is that several Republicans, some of whom are very outspoken in support of President Donald Trump, have voted FOR it. There was also numerous Democrats who voted AGAINST it.

NBC’s report stated:

Republicans Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Matt Gaetz and Francis Rooney, both of Florida, voted for the measure, while eight Democrats voted against it: Joe Cunningham of South Carolina, Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, Kendra Horn of Oklahoma, Elaine Luria of Virginia, Ben McAdams of Utah, Anthony Brindisi, Stephanie Murphy and Max Rose, all of New York.

Prior to the vote was Nancy Pelosi slamming the drone attack that eliminated a top Iranian general who was responsible for numerous casualties over the years. Pelosi believes Trump should not take any further military actions unless Congress approves of it.

Those who disagree believe this strike worked because Trump didn’t tell all of Congress first, on the notion that there would be leaks in Congress that could cause the strike to fail.

“Last week, in our view, the administration conducted a provocative disproportionate airstrike against Iran which endangered Americans, and did so without consulting Congress,” Pelosi said at her weekly press conference.

Trump is yet to issue a response, but keep tabs on his Twitter account for the fastest response.
