A hilarious moment in American history happened when the state of Illinois, Obama's hometown, voted to NOT celebrate his birthday as a holiday.
Who thought that was a good idea in the first place?
Maybe if Chicago residents weren't shooting each other in record numbers, then I'd at least consider it (and still vote no). But come on, Barry - you were nothing special for eight years and you destroyed the American healthcare system. Why would you even be considered for a holiday?
Because you're black? Who cares if you're black. Skin color doesn't matter, right? We're all equals, which means we all equally are not having our birthday declared a national holiday.
Have a seat over there with that nonsense.
Let's dissect the quotes from BizPacReview.
The House measure, sponsored by Chicago Democratic Rep. Sonya Harper, received 54 votes, six votes short of what was needed to move it to the Illinois State Senate, where Obama served from 1997 to 2004.
Almost had it! Too bad. Can I see a list of the 54 morons who voted to randomly celebrate a day off from work for a President who did nothing?
“President Barack Obama, he did great work for the state of Illinois and our country, and I believe we need to do our part in preserving that history,” Harper said.
How's Chicago look right now? They're over there raping girls on Facebook Live. Doesn't look like Obama did anything for his hometown, which is a big part of Illinois.
Opponents to the proposal were fine with honoring the 44th president but not keen on the idea of closing schools and government facilities for the day.
Obviously. It's fine to honor any of the Presidents, but you don't get a holiday for eight years of mundane boredom and healthcare screw-ups.
“The concept you are working on here, giving President Obama a day, I think is deserved. I think it’s appropriate, but I have a couple of questions about how we are doing it,” Rep. Steve Andersson said.
No it's not deserved at all. It shouldn't even be a discussion.
Noting that the Feb. 6th birthday of the 40th president and Tampico native, Ronald Reagan, is not a holiday, the Republican floor leader voiced concern over giving state employees a paid day off in the midst of its current financial crisis.
Oh, someone with a brain speaking? Where did that come from? Oh, he's a Republican. I get it now.
Harper disagreed with the suggestion that the day be simply honorary, citing the importance of formally recognizing the nation’s first African-American president and his history as a community organizer in his adopted home of Chicago, according to the Tribune.
Who cares if he's African? Try getting a day off in Kenya if you're that bothered by it. No one cares if you're black. We're all equals, remember? Our skin color does not dictate our actions or commendations. He's not the first black President. He's the 44th President who just happens to be black-ish. He also has done nothing for Chicago.
“Personally, to me, he helped me to get motivated, get up in my community and organize my community to be the change that we want to see, and we are seeing right now on the ground,” Harper said.
Good for you, Harper. Richard Simmons got people motivated too. Do you want a national holiday for him? Between Richard Simmons and Donald Trump, the two of them got more fat women burning calories than anyone in history. Maybe they should have a holiday too.
If anyone thinks Obama should have a holiday celebrated where schools and work has off, then please sound off in the comments and tell me why.
I am 100% having a day off for a stupid reason, but I cannot fathom the stupidity behind giving Obama a holiday.
No. Freaking. Way.
