President Donald Trump shared on Twitter an article in the NY Post written by Andrew C. McCarthy that dives into the mystery of the Obama administration spying on Donald Trump. The president posted, "A must read, Andy McCarthy’s column today, “Dirty dealings of dirt devils who concocted Trump-Russia probe.” The greatest Scam in political history. If the Mainstream Media were honest, which they are not, this story would be bigger and more important than Watergate. Someday!"
Needless to say, I am just now seeing this article and I'm a day late to it. I follow Trump on Twitter, but his messages don't always get through to my feed. I even check the NY Post several times per week, but am just now seeing this story that discusses the possible reasons why Obama's team might have had a watchful eye on Trump and his campaign.
A must read, Andy McCarthy’s column today, “Dirty dealings of dirt devils who concocted Trump-Russia probe.” The greatest Scam in political history. In his column, McCarthy states:
There is no doubt that the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign. As Barr made clear, the real question is: What predicated the spying? Was there a valid reason for it, strong enough to overcome our norm against political spying? Or was it done rashly? Was a politically motivated decision made to use highly intrusive investigative tactics when a more measured response would have sufficed, such as a “defensive briefing” that would have warned the Trump campaign of possible Russian infiltration?
My thoughts are that everyone probably spies on everyone else. People running against each other always want to know what their so-called enemy is up to. What are they doing and how do I counter it? It's like the New England Patriots sending a guy to film a private practice before the playoffs. It's like stalking people on Facebook to see what they're up to, but not interacting them. Does that make it right? Not at all, but it does seem like a typical thing that people would do, especially if some real estate reality show guy like Trump is about to sweep the presidency out from under the Democratic leadership.
Democrats prepared for an easy Hillary Clinton victory once they booted dopey Bernie Sanders from the possible DNC nomination.
They thought it was smooth sailing, but Trump won the electoral college, proving to be more popular in many states, which is why the Democrats now want to eradicate the electoral college all together. If they ever did that, then every election would be determined by the same few overpopulated states and that would reduce the voice for the people who live in smaller states. They basically would not ever have a voice again.
Back to McCarthy's quote from Barr - what predicated the spying?
What exactly would they accomplish? Did they want to find something to get Trump impeached or jailed? Trump is too smart for that. He knows there's a target on him from the Democratic Party, so he's not going to waste time doing something that will allow the Democrats to say "got ya." He simply won't give them that pleasure. He would rather go out losing entirely, then losing at the hands of the Democrats catching him in a scandal.
Not that he hasn't had his fair share of scandals, because every politician has some skeleton hiding somewhere, but Trump just won't let the Democrats beat him.
Brings us back to the point -why exactly would the Obama administration keep tabs on Trump when they're on their way out the door?
What would Obama gain from this? Nothing, just sharing info with Hillary Clinton?
What do you think prompted their alleged spying?
