Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) addressed rumors and reports that she is considering running for the presidency in 2028 during a live Instagram video post Tuesday.
The freshman lawmaker did not rule out a potential bid when she said "people" keep bringing up “the future, like 2028, like blah blah blah.”
“I think what’s really important is that we have a lot of work that we need to do right now,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And I want to like level with all of you: I’m not a person that aspires to position. I aspire to a mission.”

She told her viewers, “The answer is you, the answer is people.”
The New York lawmaker, who has a large social media following, has been criticized recently by potential political rivals for allegedly spending too little time in her own 14th Congressional District.
