Pelosi Demands McCarthy Apologize For 'Bigoted Statement' After Saying 'Chinese Coronavirus'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is demanding GOP Rep. Kevin McCarthy apologize for his allegedly 'bigoted' statement when he referred to the coronavirus as a "Chinese coronavirus." Despite the fact that coronavirus originated in Wuhan, China, similar to the West Nile Virus, Pelosi and other Democrats like Ilhan Omar have politicized it and turned his statement into something racial.

When McCarthy posted his message, he was directing people to the CDC website so he could be helpful and allow people to have updated information.

To make the situation more interesting, some media outlets have also referred to coronavirus as the Wuhan coronavirus, or other variations - none of which were meant to be racially charged.

Bigoted statements which spread misinformation and blame Asians and the Asian American community for #coronavirus make us all less safe. @GOPLeader must delete this tweet and apologize immediately.

Omar said this:

Viruses don't have nationalities. This is racist.

Julio Rosas posted this video of media outlets using similar wording when describing coronavirus, but Democrats have not outraged against mainstream media over that.
