One of the most popular releases in 2017 is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or better known as PUBG. The game started out in early access back in March of the same year, and even then the player base had moved to become one of the biggest ones in the gaming industry that year by selling over 10 million copies before it also got out of early access.
The battle royal genre was quite favorable in the past with titles such as Arma 3 and H1Z1. However, PUBG took the popularity of this style and the investment of the gaming industry to a whole new level. It did not take too long before variations of PUBG were getting released, and one of the biggest competitors today is Fortnite Battle Royale, probably due to its free to play moto.
For all of those who have not heard about PUBG, you might be wondering what all the fuss is about. The game can be played alone or with a partner, and you are tossed on a pretty big abandoned island with the grassy terrain, plenty of houses, vehicles and more. Once you drop to the ground, the goal is to eliminate other players and be the last survivor, which is where things get interesting.
You will be facing 99 other players who parachuted on to the island. To survive you will have to scavenge the environment and find various weapons. The weapons in the game go from a frying pan all the way to assault and sniper rifles that come with plenty of different attachments such as sights, scopes, silencers and more. Of course, the game wouldn’t be a real battle royal without wild explosions as the game offers various types of grenades as well.
After you manage to become the real survivor of PUBG by winning a match, you will be rewarded with a title and a lot of in-game currency that you can spend on many different cosmetic items to customize the character whether into tactical fashion or something silly instead.
While the game still has incredible replay value, the things are going to become even better with the new patch approaching that is going to bring a whole new desert environment. This update will increase the concurrent base, making PUBG even more popular.Posted on January 12, 2018 in Gamer Hangout and filed under PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
