The American Red Cross drowns in guilt and sorrow! They accidentally released a racist pool poster. The poster was supposed to be about pool safety, but take another look and you'll see subtle racist suggestions insinuating that kids of color are not cool. All kids are cool, right? The racist pool poster wants you to "Be Cool, Follow the Rules"- but the poster creator made only the colored kids uncool. But I don't think that's the biggest issue with the poster. My problem is that it didn't list ALL the kids as uncool! I worked at a summer camp. I know from experience that all kids have great potential to be cool or not cool. It doesn't matter what color the kid is. Any kid can be annoying.

The racist pool poster and how I fixed it

Let's examine this terribly planned racist pool poster that only labels the brown kids as NOT COOL. After that, we'll view the new version that I made with Microsoft Paint. I believe every cool adult will agree with me. Everyone who is annoying won't get the joke.

NBC NEWS: An American Red Cross Hospital signboard that carried a "super racist" message about swim safety guidelines for children prompted an apology from the hospital on Tuesday.

The dialogue opened on Twitter after a photo circulated of the poster in Fort Morgan, Colorado. The poster, which has since been taken down, read at the top: "Be Cool, Follow the Rules." Below the heading were depictions of children playing. The white children were labeled as behaving "cool" while children of color were depicted as misbehaving, or "not cool," for breaking pool safety rules.

American Red Cross has since confirmed that it has discontinued the production of the poster and has already removed it from the hospital's website and Swim App.
