Republican Representative Liz Cheney doubles her efforts in stating how current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is unfit for office.
Fox News reports "Iran fired roughly 15 ballistic missiles into Iraq, with at least 11 hitting Ain al-Asad Air Base and Erbil military base Tuesday night. Trending Politics reports that the speaker tweeted "Closely monitoring the situation following bombings targeting U.S. troops in Iraq. We must ensure the safety of our service-members, including ending needless provocations from the Administration and demanding that Iran cease its violence. America & world cannot afford war."
Just minutes before that, she was at the opening night of Danny Meyer's Maialino Mare restaurant in Washington, D.C. The Food editor for Washingtonian Magazine Anne Spiegel even gave evidence of Pelosi being in attendance, time-stamped 16 minutes before Pelosi's tweet surfaced.
The Politico's Heather Caygle reports that Pelosi did not answer a phone call from Vice President Mike Pence before she attended the opening. That is why Cheney, chair of the House Republican Conference, called out Pelosi for her actions. Cheney tweets "Speaker Pelosi is an embarassment and unfit for office."
The Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that the missile attacks were an act of retaliation after an airstrike killed Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani.
Fox News reports that a U.S. military official in Baghdad reported that there was no casualties after the initial assessment of the attacks.
