Teen quits Walmart over intercom, says 'Nobody should work here, ever'
A 17-year-old named Jackson Racicot quit his job in epic fashion as he announced leaving over the store intercom and sparked a little bit of trouble on the way out. It's a good thing he had another job lined up, because after what he said, there was probably no way he would ever work in a Walmart again! He took his quitting viral when he posted video of it on Facebook and named it "How I quit my job today" and the video took off, getting almost half a million views so far.
This all went down in a Walmart located in Grande Prairie Supercentre in Alberta, Canada, and he read a speech into the intercom, likely gathering a few laughs by customers. He called out his management for being abusive or not dealing with an abusive situation. He told people they shouldn't ever work there and he lashed out with a few obscenities.
"Attention all shoppers, associates and management, I would like to say to all of you today that nobody should work here, ever," he said over the speakers. "Our managers will make promises and never keep them."
"[Management] will preach to us about how they care about their employees but about a month ago, my boss, assistant manager Cora called me a 'waste of time,' and management did nothing."
"I'm sick of all the b-------, bogus write-ups and my job," Racicot concluded. "F--- management, f--- this job and f---- Walmart."
Walmart responded and said they were aware of the video and not very happy with it.
"We are aware of the video circulating online and are disappointed by this incident. Respect for all individuals including our associates and customers is a core value at Walmart... We are looking into this matter and will address it internally as required."
Here is the video. It contains a few swear words that begin with F, just a heads up.
How I quit my job today. Like, must watch. I also ran out a fire door. Y’all should share this around lolPosted by Jackson Racicot on Thursday, December 6, 2018
Well, that's one way to quit a job and maybe hope that Walmart starts treating their employees better. They have a reputation for being a terrible place to work, but I cannot speak from experience.
If you have ever worked at a Walmart, then please tell us what your experience is like in the comments below.
