Remember all the jokes we had about United States having a Space Force, and then it became a reality. Well, here's something else to laugh at. The first Space Force utility uniforms have been released and they are camouflage, and I literally can't stop laughing at all the jokes that came out of this.
First of all, why are they camouflage? Is this for all the hiding in the bushes up in space? Maybe some Vietcong pop out from behind a tree on Neptune and here we are in the middle of an intergalactic war?
Second - if you really wanted to "hide" in space, then shouldn't the uniforms be black?
Whatever... let's see what we can do with this!
What about if you're on the first space mission and walking around the moon in your green camouflage, but all of a sudden you hear something and need to jump into a moon rock. You know, a grayish colored moon rock, and boom! No one can see you in that fancy green outfit.
What about if you're flying your spaceship for the Space Force and you need to change the oil? OK, hop out of the spaceship and hide in your camouflage in case an alien sees you. You don't want to get probed or anything, right?
Keep in mind, I'm just joking around about this and I know absolutely nothing about the Space Force or military. I literally never have any idea what I am talking about, but I know a good joke when I see one, and this was one of those times. Of course, all in good fun!
If I am ever abducted by an alien, I would hope the Space Force still rescues me and doesn't hold this against me.
Now if you made it this far, here's the real reason the uniforms are camouflage - these uniforms are for members who are on the ground, not in space. Therefore, they have a unified uniform that is basically consistent with the rest of the military.

The United States Space Force wrote this on Twitter:
"We don’t. Space Operators are on the ground, on Earth working with joint partners like the @usairforce and @USArmy. Hence utilizing their uniform."
The Space Force also said:
"USSF is utilizing current Army/Air Force uniforms, saving costs of designing/producing a new one. Members will look like their joint counterparts they’ll be working with, on the ground."
They are saving money by not having new uniforms made.
A very simple explanation was needed, but of course we had to joke about it first.
