Trump's assistant resigns, caught leaking 'off the record' info to reporters
President Donald Trump's assistant has resigned after being caught allegedly giving information about his family and Oval Office to reporters. The personal assistant's name is Madeleine Westerhout and she's been part of Trump's administration since the day he was elected.
Westerhout isn't someone who appeared on television very much, if at all. She's more of an unknown name to the public, but she worked closely with and for the president.
It remains unclear what exactly the information shared was, but NY Times states it was family and Oval Office related.
"Ms. Westerhout’s abrupt and unexpected departure came after Mr. Trump learned on Thursday that she had indiscreetly shared details about his family and the Oval Office operations she was part of at a recent off-the-record dinner with reporters staying at hotels near Bedminster, N.J., during the president’s working vacation, according to one of the people, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss White House personnel issues."
NY Times also stated that Westerhout shared pics on her Instagram account that were about her job, travel about rallies, and properties owned by Donald Trump. "In one post she joked that she had been responsible for printing out a piece of paper that Mr. Trump held up and referred to at a public event."
