Biden says no one to be deported in first 100 days, despite Obama's highest removal numbers

March 15, 2020 / 781 views

Joe Biden said, during his debate with Bernie Sanders, that he does not want to deport anyone in the first 100 days of his administration if he is president. This is odd because Joe Biden was Vice President to former President Barack Obama who historically has the highest number of deportations/removals from the country.

As stated on Snopes, "Statistically, more people were deported from the U.S. during the administration of President Barack Obama than during that of any other president."

Some people who heard Joe Biden say this might speculate that it's difficult to believe Biden would be weak on deportations/removals when he was part of the administration with the highest numbers.

It's worth noting that Snopes also stated, "That statistic was due in large part to a change in how "deportations" are defined rather than to an increase in the number of persons deported."

At this time it's difficult to ponder what Joe Biden would actually do because he's not the president nor is he the DNC nominee at this time, but he's likely going to be as Bernie Sanders struggled on the previous big Tuesday.
