Churches open in Cali, but Gov Newsom's guidelines suggest no more singing

May 26, 2020 / 821 views

Liberal Governor Gavin Newsom now allows California churches to open after President Donald Trump demanded that churches be considered essential and opened back up. However, Newsom has a new set of guidelines he would like everyone to follow.

Keep in mind, these are simply guidelines and not laws that must be followed, but ideas that officials say could help minimize the spread of disease.

One of the most controversial new guidelines is asking people not to sing in church.

Specifically, as noted by the SF Chronicle, the guideline suggestion says, "refrain from holding potlucks or similar family-style eating and drinking events. Strongly consider discontinuing singing, group recitation and other practices and performances. Officials say these practices increase the likelihood of transmission."

What if people are spread out?
