CNN's Jake Tapper had Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on as a guest and she suggested that President Trump referenced the COVID-19 as a hoax. Actually, Trump was referring to Democrats as the hoax, not the contagious Hercules flu that's gone literally full pandemic on the planet.
So later on, Jake Tapper went back on Twitter to address it and says why he did not fact check AOC.
Abigail Marone pinged Jake (not the snake) Tapper and said, "AOC just repeated the lie that President Trump called coronavirus a "hoax." This is not true, and has been debunked by numerous fact checking sources. This would've been a great time for a fact check, @jaketapper..."
She linked to the fact checker website that states Trump was NOT calling the COVID-19 a hoax.
Tapper responded with:
"I thought about it, because the president did not call the virus a hoax. But i didn’t because he *did* call a hoax the concerns of those saying that the response from the president was insufficient and that he was downplaying the gravity of the crisis. And that too was a lie."
Darn, Jake. But, at least he brought it up and responded.
Now AOC on the other hand, she's a different story./ Last Edited by: Frank
