General Flynn recorded a new video back in 2016 explaining how he will serve his country next. He planned to be a voice of integrity and honesty. Flynn said, "I've decided I'm gonna serve this country in a different way...which is basically being a voice, hopefully, of integrity and honesty for some of the things that are going on within our government and frankly around the world."

Then, it seems, they tried to take him out.

Per Wiki, "In December 2017, Flynn formalized a deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller to plead guilty to a felony count of "willfully and knowingly" making false statements to the FBI, and agreed to cooperate with the Special Counsel's investigation.[17] In January 2020 Flynn moved to withdraw his guilty plea, claiming government vindictiveness and breach of the plea agreement.[18] The United States Department of Justice announced that it intended to drop all charges against Flynn[19] but a federal court judge ordered the matter to be placed on hold.[20]"
