House to vote on invoking 25th Amendment to remove Trump immediately, Pence told Pelosi he won't do it
House Members are preparing to vote on getting Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and have President Donald Trump removed immediately, as reported on CBS Evening News. The 25th Amendment the United States Constitution, in its most simple terms, says "that if the President becomes unable to do his job, the Vice President becomes the President (Section 1) or Acting President (Sections 3 or 4)."
UPDATE: Pence said NO and he will not invoke the 25th Amendment. He wrote a short letter to Pelosi explaining his decision. Part of it said:
"Last week, I did not yield to pressure to exert power beyond my constitutional authority to determine the outcome of the election... And I will not now yield to efforts in the House of Representatives to play political games at a time so serious in the life of our nation.

Just a few months ago, when you introduced legislation to create a 25th Amendment Commission, you said, [a] President’s fitness for office must be determined by science and facts. You said that we must be very respectful of not making a judgment on the basis of a comment or behavior that we don’t like, but based on a medical decision. Madam Speaker you were right.
