Didn't see that coming! The Iowa Democratic Party chairman has resigned this week after the absolute disaster at the Iowa caucus. It was just a local problem, but the whole nation saw what happened as they couldn't even tabulate their own votes.
Now chairman Troy Price is stepping down.
"The fact is that Democrats deserved better than what happened on caucus night. As chair of this party, I am deeply sorry for what happened and bear the responsibility for any failures on behalf of the Iowa Democratic Party," Troy Price wrote in his resignation letter to the State Central Committee.
"While it is my desire to stay in this role and see this process through to completion, I do believe it is time for the Iowa Democratic Party to begin looking forward, and my presence in my current role makes that more difficult." (NBC News)
Iowa's Democratic Party had major issues with reporting the totals and a lot of the results didn't come out until days later. Apparently there were issues with an app they were using to gather the results.
Pete Buttigieg was accused of having ties to the developers of the app.
