Jimmy Kimmel was caught up in pushing fake news this week when he shared a manipulated video of Vice President Mike Pence pushing allegedly empty boxes of PPE in what was called a publicity stunt.
Twitter marked the video as manipulated, but by then, left wing journos and pundits had already pushed Kimmel's post around as though it was legit.
What really happened is that Mike Pence was asking about carrying empty boxes for the filming. Maybe because it's easier.

Jimmy Kimmel ended up deleting his first post and then posted his apology, saying "it would appear that @vp was joking about carrying empty boxes for a staged publicity stunt. The full video reveals that he was carrying full boxes for a staged publicity stunt. My apologies. I know how dearly this administration values truth."
It isn't so much an apology, but more like a back-handed comment.
