Joe Buck and Troy Aikman mocked stadium flyovers: 'Your Tax Dollars at Work'
Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are getting criticized fairly heavily after mocking the military flyover during a football game. This took place when the Packers and Buccaneers were about to play at Raymond James Stadium down in Tampa, FL in a stadium that was mostly empty.
Aikman said, "that's a lot of jet fuel just to do a little flyover," Aikman said. Joe Buck, who a lot of people dislike anyway, replied "that's your hard-earned money and your tax dollars at work." Then Aikman said, "that stuff ain't happening with the Kamala-Biden ticket, I'll tell you that right now, partner"
Well, about that. There is nothing suggesting that Joe Biden would cancel this if he was the president. Anyone can check his campaign website to see this is not something they are talking about, so I don't know why Troy Aikman would say this in the first place.
SponsoredBeing a Philadelphia Eagles fan, I think Troy Aikman is a toolbag anyway because we have a lifelong Philly vs Dallas rivalry. And to make it even better, there's a lot of us across the country who dislike Joe Buck for the simple fact that he's really annoying. I think a lot of us can agree with that.
Military flyovers are done to show support for the military as part of a Salute to Service, so for them two goons to mock the flyovers is a straight up mocking of the military. Perhaps it wasn't meant to mock the military, but instead mock how it costs, but there are many people who will see it differently and not be happy with it.
However, if you want to dive into the rabbit hole of the NFL and taxpayer spending or anything remotely close to that nature, then I would start with this story titled "Which NFL teams got your federal taxdollars." It has some information from the Department of Defense and some numbers that might be of interest to you.
