White House press secretary Jen Psaki is asked about Biden's administration backtracking on the number of refugees they would take into the country. They appeared to be staying at the number Trump set, but then faced some pushback from Democrats and now appear willing to raise the number as needed.
Psaki suggests they wanted to convey a certain message and remind people they are welcome here and they would raise numbers if they had to, and the administration didn't change anything from the Democrats pushing back on it.
Psaki tries to elaborate and suggests their objectives were not clearly understood by everyone else. Ohhhhhh so it's our fault we didn't understand their message? Is that what she is implying?
