Woman Fired After Giving Trump Motorcade The Middle Finger
Juli Briskman was riding her bike when President Trump and his motorcade passed by. She promptly flipped the cars 'the finger' and it was all caught on camera. She may have known it was on camera, so she gave her job a heads up. Perhaps that was a bad move because upon informing her employer that she was the lady in the photo that was being widely circulated, she was fired on the spot.
Reporters said that Juli Briskman told her bosses at Akima LLC, which is a government contracting firm, that she was in fact the person in the photo flying the middle finger high and proud at the president's motorcade. What happened next is something she probably did not see coming. It was a bitter dose of instant karma as she was fired and security escorted her out of the building. It turns out that thumbing your nose at the hand that feeds you and your employers is not in best interest.
Briskman complained that since she was not wearing any company logos and that since she was not on company time that she should be able to do what she wants, and if that includes giving the middle finger to the leader of the free world, then so be it. Speech is free, but not free of consequences.
Akima representatives were quick to note that according to their code of conduct policies, specifically the social media policy, she has no such freedom. One could even speculate that since the company she worked for was a government contracting agency and relied on being in the good graces of the government, that her flipping the Command in Chief the middle finger could ultimate cost the company a ton of money. Potential lawsuit to make her firing even sweeter?
While Briskman did not immediately delve into her personal reasons for disliking President Trump, whom I like to point out is her president, the circumstance of him driving to one of his golf courses amid controversy that he golfs too much all the while criticizing former President Barack Obama for doing the same thing, could be speculated as a viable cause for her dismay at the moment.
She did touch on her reasoning when she spoke with HuffPost and said the blood boiled that DACA recipients were being mistreated and people in Puerto Rico were in need and the president was out golfing - as if the president himself, at 70-years-old would be out moving trees from the road with his bare hands.
Some people forget that dealing with presidential issues does not require the president to be present or sitting in the Oval Office to get things accomplished.
She finished her press comments by saying she had no regrets and would do it again. Maybe HuffPost or CNN need someone to work in their mail room. Perhaps she's qualified.
